Investing in the Nurses Who Care for Kids

The Lillian Lee Snyder Shine Bright Foundation was established to support pediatric cardiology nurses at Nationwide Children's Hospital — providing nurse programming, education, and Heart Center research funding.

Each year, an annual scholarship is awarded to a cardiothoracic nurse to advance their career and education in the pediatric specialty. The Foundation's proceeds flow into a permanent endowment managed by the Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation.

“Together with you, we will have a positive impact on the lives of children with congenital heart defects — now and in the future.”

Since our founding in 2019, we've raised nearly 20,000 and are on track to cross the 1,000,000 milestone in 2026.

Born to Shine

Lillian Lee Snyder entered this world on July 1, 2019. Within 24 hours, she was diagnosed with a rare heart condition — a Taussig Bing Anomaly. Over 17 remarkable days, Lilly underwent seven procedures, including two open heart surgeries.

She fought with a strength that humbled everyone around her. Though her time was brief, the nurses at Nationwide Children's Hospital didn't just provide medical care — they created warmth, calm, and humanity during the most difficult chapter of our family's life.

“While her time on this earth was brief, Lilly showed incredible resilience, strength and a fighting spirit.”

We honor Lilly and the fire that burned so brightly within her by building something lasting — a foundation that funds the very nurses who make miracles possible for children like her.
